The Opportunity
As the Lead LLM/VLM GenAI Architect for our Model Science Team, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to redefine human-computer interaction. You'll architect and implement advanced generative AI systems that form the core of our senses-integrated-compute platform, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with large language models (LLMs) and vision language models (VLMs).

Core Responsibilities

- Architect and implement advanced LLM and VLM systems that power our senses-integrated-compute platform, focusing on real-time, multimodal interactions
- Design and develop proprietary fine-tuning methodologies and training pipelines to create specialized AI models tailored to our unique use cases
- Lead the integration of multiple AI modalities (text, vision, audio) into cohesive, responsive systems that can engage in natural, context-aware interactions
- Optimize model performance for production environments, balancing computational efficiency with high-quality outputs
- Implement robust evaluation frameworks to measure and improve model performance, safety, and alignment with human values
- Develop strategies for responsible AI deployment, including bias mitigation, safety guardrails, and ethical considerations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into our product ecosystem
- Mentor and guide other AI engineers while establishing best practices for GenAI development
- Stay at the cutting edge of AI research and incorporate relevant advances into our technology stack

Technical Skills

- AI Frameworks: Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar
- LLM/VLM Experience: Hands-on work with models like GPT, Claude, Llama, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, or similar
- Fine-tuning Techniques: Knowledge of RLHF, PEFT, LoRA, or other parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods
- Programming Languages: Python required; experience with other languages is a plus
- MLOps: Familiarity with model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance in production
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP for AI workloads
- Distributed Systems: Understanding of scaling AI inference and training across multiple nodes
- Data Processing: Experience with data preparation and processing for AI training
